I ate too much.

The good thing about a big plate of Thanksgiving food is that it stuffs me to such an extent that I can skip the next two typical meals of the day. That food just sits like a bowling ball in my stomach. biggrin

Happy Thanksgiving to all. We had a blessing of a table spread and family time. I always love smoked turkey wings! Panzer, do Cubans do pork and rice and beans? My nephews are half Puerto Rican and I believe that is their traditional meal at their Abuelo and Abuela's house for Thanksgiving.

We ate and then sat down for football and I fell asleep on couch until 11sh. Drag myself to my bedroom and only now waking up again. Turkey always makes me sleepy

Both Cubans and Puerto Ricans often do rice & beans for Thanksgiving but in my case yesterday we did not have that as a side. For the sides we had the traditional stuff like sweet potato casserole and stuffing.

Turkey is great and I try to get turkey legs or sliced deli meat whenever I can.

Also Happy Thanksgiving, I know I'm a few days late, but I was traveling and unplugged from the internet for a few days.

And that is something to be thankful for.

I eat ground turkey on a regular basis as a beef substitute for anything requiring ground beef...

Except burgers. Burgers should be beef. Or Bison.

Mmmmmmm.

Nothing like a simple patty, single flipped, with salt, onion powder and pepper, cooked on a skillet in a pool of coconut oil on medium-low (25%) heat, with a lid on.

Ideally a bison burger has some amount of beef mixed in to add some fat, since bison is a bit too lean on it's own.

Coconut oil is fine, but I'd argue that beef tallow makes for a better burger.

Very nice. I hope you have a good cruise! Will your ship be heading out of Port Everglades or Miami?
