It's definitely an option Pol, I've registered some good hits on Aviatiks using it and I'm looking forward to using it against Rolands when they turn up, because I think I'll take serious heat from them at the normal angle of fire.
It was fun landing minus the wing chunk, the trick is to quickly work out what controls will allow you to fly forward (if any of course), in this case it involved a touch of stick and rudder too.
Yes Adger the landing is the worse bit as you're afraid of throttling back and stalling so I come in very low and in a straight line and only throttle back at the last moment as I'm about to touch down.
The worst is when you realise you can't get enough control to fly it and your only choice is to try and level enough to 'crash it as gently as possible' kind of what happened to Boelcke. That must have been a horrible last ride for the great man

Cracking pictures mate, I like the top one, it looks like you could be jumped at any minute in all that murky weather. I like the paint scheme too, not sure French high command will feel the same though, you might find yourself on a l'fizzer or whatever the French equivalent was .
I've been flying for the 103rd Aero in Feb 1918 For the USAS. It's certainly busy up there. As you can see by the melee I decided to get involved in. I've reduced the number of enemy aircraft by two though.
The details throughout WOFF are amazing, on the aircraft, the ground and the smoke and flames.
If the new edition has improved on all this.....wow

The USAS Campaign is a good one for someone completely new to WOFF I think and used to multiplayer, it's the nearest you get to an 'instant action' campaign, there are so many Jastas and other formations all over the place, you always meet up with something on your missions.
I've got a couple of campaigns on the go, my USAS one and my FE2b campaign flying in August 1916 currently.
Here's a picture of a recent victory I had in my Fee. My gunner did a fine job, turned an Eindecker into a Neindecker
Again though the devil is in the detail, and the details are great in WOFF.

Wow, the Sopwith Camel Bentley variant is just a Beast against the Bosch! Twin gun killing power, excellent turn and handling, least restrictive forward and upward field of view for tracking foes and a strong engine for climbing. About the only "downside" is the crate sounds like it has a sickly lawnmower for an engine...but it sure doesn't hold it back any during a fight. I thought the Bentley's were only allocated to England but I guess not. Been hunting Bosch with it this weekend and I have to say it's my new favorite kite.
One of my favorite aircraft to fly is the Sopwith Pup, so I decided to start a new career with 54 Squadron starting in dear old blighty and then off to war in December 1916. So thought I'd share a shot of us saying toodle-oo to the white cliffs.
Despite the weather being predominantly awful in Jan 1917, I've had some really good encounters so I thought I'd share a couple of shots of them. The first one had the audacity to have the same number on his aircraft as me, the very cheek of it. So one of us had to go.
The second was a real melee with some Albatros scouts and I managed to single one out and put a burst into the cockpit. When I looked at the campaign screen later when my kill had been confirmed and it gives you the pilot name, it turned out I'd clobbered Erwin Böhme....that'll teach him to crash into Boelcke like that won't it.
With the new WOFF out imminently and the visuals in that game looking wonderful, I thought I'd show that WOFF PE still looks the business too.

54 Squadron stays with Pups throughout 1917. Then changes to Camels in 1918. 56 Squadron comes over with the first SE5's in April 1917, and 60 Squadron starts getting them in August. So I'll have to transfer out to fly some.
Some more pictures, from 54 Squadron February 1917. I spot a proper melee going on and can't resist getting involved, especially as I've got height on them. I managed to bag an Albatros. Then a couple of sorties later some DFWs decided they wanted to leave big holes in my airfield so I decided to take it up with the leader and put holes in him.
As James McCudden said, 'the Pup could turn twice to the Albatros's once' and was a delight to fly. Yes it was underpowered but it gave the pilot a fighting chance in early/mid 1917 which in DH2's and FE8's up against Albatros DII and DIII's they didn't.

The seasons look so realistic in WOFF, the winters look bloody cold and the French summers dusty and hot.

That's for sure, Albert. A group of real studs there, who definitely increase one's survival rate. OTOH, they're aggressive. I can't tell you the number of times that kill-stealer McCudden cut my DID character off during 4.5 months with 56.
As he was in life, whenever McCudden was in the flight he was often the first man in on 2-seaters. Coincidence, or feature?

Good idea that about the Calendar mate,in fact it’s a belting idea. I agree and BHAHII as got to go some to improve in the already fantastic seasons.
