Some really fine shots there folks. It's been awhile since I visited this thread.
Makes me want to get back in the air again with WOFF. Maybe this weekend.

Keep emailing coming.

Dax Bonnassie into the attack! L'Homme Protectif has completed 240 sorties, and now has 71 aerial victories. Monsieur Mercure has grown to love Le Scooter--the Nieuport, now a 23. It's only 1 mph slower than a SPAD VII, and far more maneuverable. He started his career in the Vosges is September 1915. It's now April 1917, so he's survived eighteen months at the front. I did resurrect him three times; all three were deaths caused by collisions with friendly machines while flying under AI control at 12x.

This is by far my most successful WOFF career.

I've been flying Caudron G4 careers now that I feel more comfortable with how the flight model and damage model works. I've flow five sorties at 6.5 hours total and filed three claims. the aggravating thing is that the first two victims had multiple witnesses but fell in the No Man's Land or crashed in German territory. Finally, on my third attempt at combat, I managed to get a confirmed victory that fell behind French lines AND had witnesses.

the Aviatik can be very dangerous. I've found that a quick burst of machine gun fire from one of them can rip off half of the Caudron's upper wing and is an almost instant death sentence. so I've avoided using the stern gunner position to make attacks! I use the Caudron's competitive speed to stalk enemy planes in the blind spot beneath their six o'clock position. with the first two battles they lasted roughly ten minutes to fifteen minutes each.

the third victim only took about eight minutes.

now I tend to fly the machine into a good position and jump into the observer's station WITHOUT activating the auto-pilot. the auto-pilot tends to want to fly AWAY from the enemy. the auto-level flight feature tends to be too rigid, and I don't have as long to fire. it also tends to pitch sharply when setting up so I avoid it. worse, yet, it also means you're a sitting duck if that Aviatik wants to take evasive action.

I was apparently hit by flak during an early morning balloon busting mission. I didn't lose any fuel but the engine gradually slowed and then stopped. While gliding down to the road to land I almost hit this convoy of vehicles.

Didn’t Red Baron 3D have an animation of the pilot leaping from a burning crate?

It did indeed, Nowi, complete with a blood curdling scream to go along with the effect.

I'm also a big fan of the early war campaign. I was having fun dropping bombs on a German locomotive the other day. I like the way this Caudron career is going... hopefully I won't get killed and the "Bad Luck" will be for the Germans that cross my path! I've found a fun new custom skin idea that I think works well with Escadrille 13. I figured it would be fun to put "13" in black and add a black cat as well. now that I realize just how dainty and vulnerable the Caudron is... I'm going to try and see how long I can make this one last. the original skin is by the OBD team. all I did was add a drawing of a cat I made years ago and give it a name.

Beautiful pics. gents' - thought I'd post a few of WOFFue running successfully in Win10 in BootCamp on a Mac Pro (suggested settings and tweaks included under the relevant section that has now been added to the long sticky for how to load WOFFue on a Mac, for those interested).

Happy flying and happy holidays everyone,
Von S smile2

~ For my various FM/AI/FPS/DM Mods. for First Eagles 2, WoFF, RoF & WoTR, and tips for FlightGear, recommended is to check over my CombatAce profile (https://combatace.com/profile/86760-vons/) and to click on the "About Me" tab while there. ~

I am finally finding some time to fly WOFF UE again. It is partially my busy life's fault, but also partially WOTRs fault. OBD has done a really good job with WOTR and I have been enjoying it a lot at the expense of WOFF UE flight time. Here are a few new pics of many I took last night of a new Campaign mission in the Felixstowe area. I am hoping to make a pictorial AAR soon to share. This is just a tease. winkngrin

S!Blade<><

Edit: You know, WOFF UE is a REALLY good looking WWI combat sim, especially considering that it is based on the CFS3 engine. Really nice. yep

Are you going to join us in the DiD campaign Blade?

Let's pretend I got the BWOC badge to embed here.
