Correct. In fact IIRC, there was a post over on the NVidia forms that stated that you set G-sync for FPS below 60 and the Fastsync for FPS above 60 and you never have any tearing and minimum stuttering since both can be used at the same time.

Thanks PR, but your "correct" confuses me. You're saying that if I have G-sync there is an advantage to using fast V-sync instead of "regular" V-sync, right?

Fast-sync allows your game to go as fast as the GPU can "pump out" FPS WITHOUT the tearing like the old V-sync off did. I have a 144 Hz monitor and the fastest I could get before Fast-sync came out was 144 FPS with V-sync on, now I can get 170+ FPS in WOFF UE with Fast-sync and no tearing. G-sync's main benefit is low FPS and Fast-sync benefit is with high FPS, so both can be used at the same time without conflicting with each other.

Thanks again PR, but please bear with me as this technical stuff is over my head. I too have a 144 Hz monitor.
1. Are you saying that fast V-sync will have an effect only above 144 fps?
2. In other words, if I set regional activity to very heavy and get 80 fps at normal V-sync changing to fast V-sync won't bump me up to 90 fps?
3. And using fast V-sync won't allow me to do faster time compression?

Fast-sync will not make you go any faster FPS wise, but it will allow you to go faster FPS wise, and notice the difference in the wording.
What I am saying is that V-sync ON will only allow you (in your and my case) to max out at 144 FPS. With Fast-sync, this barrier is removed and you can get higher than 144 FPS in the game. If you have ever tried V-sync OFF, you will notice that your game will run as fast as your GPU can pump out FPS, but at the price of constant screen tearing. With Fast-sync, your GPU will again pump out the FPS as fast as it can, but WITHOUT the screen tearing now.
Your Fast-sync kicks in only above what ever you set your monitor Hz at, i.e. if you monitor is set at 60 Hz, Fast-sync kicks in at 61 FPS, if you set your Hz at 144 Hz, then Fast-sync kicks in at 145 FPS.
Fast-sync has absolutely nothing to do with time compression, that is all CPU calculations, not GPU rendering.

Beautiful shots everyone. I'm going to continue my rocket report: This is going to hurt in the morning. Is it just me or does the Le Prieur rocket salvo look better at dawn?

Damn, Fullofit, you continue your role as 'RocketMan'. In fact your last pics were so great I used one as a screensaver for a while. They do look great at dawn! 'I love the smell of Le Prieur in the morning!' Looking good, these shots are inspiring me, like I said on earlier thread I can't hit a barn with the dang things! S

S SteveW, here are some more action shots for you. It's amazing how many nice shots you can get from one take. And this is my "escape from exploding Death Star" shot: Enjoy!
