In my case, it isn't about upping my FPS - on a 60hz monitor, I'm hard pressed to tell the difference as the refresh rate cancels out any gain. For me, it was about removing the hiccups I would get when the FPS would dip from 60 to 58 or 59 fps. I would get a brief hang, especially when turning my head in TrackIR. Fastsync seems to remove 99.9% of the issue. Subsequently, I've chalked up the occasional pause as the sim likely loading something in the distance that I can't see.

You bring up a good point. And not to turn this into a Hardware thread...
Yea I can get 100+ FPS in game but is there any point on a 60 MHz monitor?
Or am I thinking too hard and mixing apples with oranges?

I'll stay with you in not turning this into a shop talk rofl

The consensus that I've seen in PC gaming circles is that 100+ FPS will look smoother on your monitor, but you won't really get the full benefit until you move to a higher MHz monitor. One of the good videos I've seen that breaks this down is here

As for me? I'm just happy to have WOFF UE running smoothly on my system! My Dell cost me just over $1,000 and I'm using an eight year old monitor that's extremely limited in resolution, so for now, the 745 card wedged in my XPS system will do just fine. I can always grab a 1060 card as a graduation present or, perhaps more appropriately, a "hey, I finally landed a job!" gift... biggrin

Thank you for confirming what I said earlier, in spite of some people's rants on the subject. thumbsup

Thanks for the comments chaps... no secrets involved really, just the stock UE, no graphics mods or anything.

I always, and I mean always, suffer screenshot envy in here.
Seems like everyone's stuff always looks real good. I'm gonna have see if my color settings (monitor profile) are still good or what. Maybe because I have been running winter/early spring missions with no sunshine and white clouds so everything is appropriately drab.

Or maybe it's a case of the "grass is always greener..." syndrome.

EDIT: Oh...and a +1 for being man enough to fly the DH5 in combat.

lol!... yes, I find it very difficult with this aircraft.
I set them as enemy against the early Alb DI, and had a hell of a time taking them on as the AI were flinging them all over the place...

This impressed me, so I decided to fly them myself... I have flown them several times now, and I'm getting away with it by the skin of my teeth each time.
I don't know what magic the AI has got when you see them in the DH-5, but it's a different kettle of fish when you fly them yourself.
That staggered wing gives you great forward vision, but that essential area above and behind (the one place where you need good visibility is nil!)...

I consider myself a pretty good pilot, and I'm quite confident in most aircraft that I fly, but not so in the DH-5.
I know they had problems in real life, and that they were relegated to ground attack roles (where they shined, and were good for that role) but as a pure scout aircraft, you really are taking your life in your hands when you take on even early enemy aircraft of the same time period...

Yes I always think the AI has an "advantage" in flying various aircraft (especially the quirky ones) as their flight coordination is "perfect" and they are always aware of the flight envelope, etc.

As an aside I think my graphic issue may have been my Nvidia Workshop settings seem to have reset to Default for whatever reason. And I do have access to "Fast" VSnyc.

I just got the latest this morning and I thought they were dated 10-23.
In any case I recommend everyone give FastSync a try.
It really seems to be a improvement.

Just remember guys newest Nvidia drivers dont always mean that there the best drivers.

IMO if WOFF is running fine on your current drivers why change cheers

We will remember them.

Agreed, unless you want new items like Fastsync, then you have to upgrade to the latest video drivers. My last drivers were from April before I updated to try the new Fastsync today.

The driver world moves this quickly usually when there is some kind of issue with the old ones.
All seems fine. In for a penny, in for a pound. Better get the newest.

They will often release new drivers if there is some big new AAA game that just got released as well. The update in those cases is usually just about better support for the new game. Not much else is normally impacted.
