Two more weeks of the hard brace, then to a soft one! At this point I'm pretty much healed, so I'm actually fighting it, trying to move my head around.
In the meantime I've been gathering things I'll need for the next steps, bits of hardware and crap. I had the wife drive me up to the hangar to drop some of it off and make sure everything was okay - and she was suitably impressed with the state of the aircraft.
Indeed, she didn't realize just how close I am to putting it together.
No picks of the aircraft, so here's some other hardware I picked up:

After his accident in the Nieuport they discovered some underlying issue that made the wreck almost fortuitous. That's Dart's last update from 2023. While I was out today I passed a little airfield and spotted a Vultee BT-13 Valiant just like my dad was training on in Greenville, MS when WW2 ended. I took a few photos, first one of those I've ever seen they seem pretty rare compared to AT6s, and as I was pulling out a pile of something caught my eye. Sitting there was a Graham Lee Nieuport that somebody else had crumpled up almost exactly like Dart did with his. I'm tempted to text my cousin and ask how she'd feel about having a biplane in her back yard. Wishing Dart all the best and hope to hear from him here again at some point. Salute!

So, it update for everyone, the initial fuse didn’t fuse (5% chance, and I was unlucky), so I was basically walking around for a year with a broken neck.
Attempt #2, this time from the front, and at four months I think it worked. I even stopped smoking to give it the best chance.
This week I’m going out to the airport to see if I am up to doing meaningful work. I figure I should be able to trammel an upper wing okay.
It makes me crazy that if I could work full time on her she’d most likely be in the air in about two weeks.

Dang dude! Good to hear from you, hope you're really on the mend this time! Prayers!

I sure hope the fusion takes this time. Good on ya' with stopping the smoking. Along with the health benefits, that ought to have freed up some discretionary $pending.
