Man, trying to figure out mods for Arma and TOH is pretty confusing for a newb. Particularly when so many things are outdated and links don't work. I just spent an hour trying to figure out how to add Blake's Autopilot to Take On Helicopters: Reloaded, but am still puzzled about how to do this.

I'm confused because there are references to CBA and CBA_TOH..but I don't know which one to use (or both?) and what version of CBA? Can anyone point me toward the link I need and where to install it in the Steam version of TOH?

Sorry to be such a newb.. smile

Latest Arma CBA files here: http://dev.withsix.com/projects/cca/files (not so sure about TOH versions)

Mod folders in Arma/TOH are a simple affair. Just follow the instructions on any addon page from armaholic.
Example for Arma3:
Quote:
Installation:
Extract into the ArmA 3 Directory, by default this is located in:
32-Bit - C:\Program Files\Steam/Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\
64-Bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam/Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\
After extraction it should look like this:
Steam\Steamapps\Common\ArmA 3\@your_mod_folder_name\addons\

You can also use the "Arma 3 Alpha" folder in your "My Documents" folder. Your folder setup could than look like for example this:
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name1\addons\
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name2\addons\
mydocuments\Arma3 Alpha\@your_mod_folder_name2\addons\

When present place the "userconfig" folder into your game install folder, usually:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Arma 3".
You may already have "userconfig" folder from other addons and/or mods in which case it is safe to merge the contents from this archive.

You'll also need to add a Launch Parameter to Steam, in order to do so right-click on ArmA 3 Alpha and click Properties and then Set Launch Options. In the window that opens enter in -mod=@your_mod_folder_name
For using multiple mods you would then do so like this:
Code:
-mod=@mod_name;@mod_name2;@mod_name3;@mod_name4;@mod_name5

I have just plopped one extra folder into my Arma3 folder and named it "@Mod" .

Hmm..well, trying to work with the Steam version and all these add-ons is pretty darn frustrating. First off - I can't seem to find the Take On version of Blake's autopilot. The only working links I can find are for a modified version that works with Arma2. Second, when I try to modify the Steam launcher line to include @mods, it prevents the Take On Reloaded stuff from launching. I tried modifying the launch parameters with:

"-mod=@AUTOPILOT;@CBA;@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA_TOH;f:\steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2;f:\steam\steamapps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead;f:\steam\steamapps\common\Take On Helicopters;Rearmed"

But I get errors with things missing from CBA, etc.. Basically it is way too frustrating to get it to work unfortunately. frown So I'll either have to just play vanilla TOH Reloaded or try to sort out this mess of mods and version numbers..

If my stick extension comes this week, I might put some time this weekend into playing around in TOH, and I'll tinker with mods.

Also, here's how my A3 Mods line reads in steam:
-mod=@NATO_Hellcats_1.3;@CBA_A3;@tao_foldmap_a3;@supportcall;@Ivory;@A2Heli;@ADF;@kyo;@mikes

You don't need all that stuff you have at the end. Just make sure the mods are in the main folder.

BTW, I'm really bummed the community never really ran with this one. I was really hoping for a UH-60 mod. frown

One last thing. For ToH mods, this is the first think I start with:

I always put most mods into just one folder, unless they are global mods like ACE, AI mods, Invasion '44 etc. Sure it makes it harder to weed something out that you don't want anymore, but it keeps later files from being pushed aside by older files in a modfolder with priority loading status. With either method, just try to stay organized.
