Ever had a lack of "inspiration" when filling up a claim report/description? Or don't know what to write in a claim report/description line? Or simply don't want to think too much about what you should write in a claim report/description line?

If your answer is yes to any or all of those questions than this might be handful to you:

Based on the excellent idea from andqui of what should or could be written in the claim report line I created a template in Microsoft Word (requires Microsoft Word 2007 or higher) which allows the player to create a simple claim report/description by simply choosing thru Combo Boxes information such as:
- Number of enemy spotted/attacked
- Type of enemy aircraft spotted/attacked
- Relative altitude (to player) of enemy aircraft
- Direction of enemy (relative to player)
- If you spotted/attacked the enemy aircraft alone or together with your wingmen
- Enemy aircraft heading
- How you approached and engaged the enemy
- Number of approximate rounds fired at enemy
- What enemy aircraft from the enemy formation was attacked
- How the enemy aircraft went down
- Which side of the lines did the enemy aircraft crashed
In the end of the report template there's also a text box that allows the player to type/write the approximate location where the enemy aircraft crashed.

The text in the report template can of course be edited and changed to whatever the player desired to.

Here's how the template looks when it's opened:

Using the Combo box which sets the number of enemy aircraft spotted:

Using the (only) text box where the player writes the place where the enemy aircraft crashed:

An example of a report after all the combo boxes and text box are filled in:

(note that all the player needs to type/write is the place where the enemy aircraft crashed)

After this all the player needs to do is to copy the report and paste it in the claim detail line in WOFF.

The template version which is meant to be used by Allied pilots can be downloaded here:

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Actually this was rather easy and quick to do.
Like I said the purpose is to be able to easily and quickly create a comprehensive claim report. I would even say that this eventually makes the life easier for those that don't fell "comfortable" writing in English or simply don't know what to write in the claim report line.

Uploaded a new version of my Quick claim report/description creator which includes the following changes/improvements:

- The word "near" located before the text box (where the nearest or reference location to where the enemy aircraft crashed is to be written) is replaced by a Combo Box where the player can not only select 'near' (which previously was only a word) but can alternatively choose directions instead (North, South, West, East, Northwest, etc...) in order to type a reference location in the next text box and thus being able to write a reference location instead of a nearest one.
- Minor typo corrections.

Here's an example with the newest changes:

I have created a WOFF Mission Log in MS Word (2003) and made it available at the following link:
http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3887357/Flight_Log_for_recording_missi#Post3887357

Maybe it could be incorporated with your claim log. Please take a look at it and let me know your thoughts.

Yes, sometimes I get an error on loading the file but pressing the "retry" button seems to work fine.

Ric, I think you should post your work under the "FAQ and Reference" threads. I believe that is where it should be.

What error do you get?

BTW, do you have MS Office/Word 2007 or above? What version of Office/Word do you have?

If you're trying to open these files with Word 2003 (or below) you will not be able to do it so - Word 2003 files (both documents and templates) have a different format than Word 2007 and later ones.

No problem on my part and that's probably a good idea, Robert smile
