Well I think we all had a good time this weekend. I know I did.
I am ready to begin elite-ing the Jenner chassis, and I have enough Centurions in my garage to go all the way. The Yen-Lo is already through it's basic.
What will you all be working on this week?

I've got my 3 catapults to develop, but I'm going to put them away for now with the awesome. I only see much success in the Stalker and Atlas RS and D-DC, so until I've got the cash for the Jaeger, or until I've decided which jaeger to go with, I'll stay with them. I'm not cut out for exceeding 57 KPH, it just gets me in trouble. LOL

Going to finish my one Dragon, and then not sure what's next. Maybe run the Raven-3L.
Have to take advantage of my premium time I just bought.
Will have to decide on a new chassis I think, leaning toward the Hunchback right now, but might wait and see..

As an aside:
Kelen and I had a good time (well I had a good time, can't speak for Kelen, but he was sighing a lot less than usual) running a few Conquest maps on Saturday.
I took my Jenner, and he took his ECM 'Mando.
If you all are really interested in making Conquest a thing, I would recommend picking a Light chassis and practicing. I know it gets in the way of your Heavy/Assault stacking, but having a fast, well-coordinated cap crew could change your thought processes regarding this game mode.
Then, if we were able to get a full SimHQ 8-man going with a Light lance to cap and a heavier lance to brawl, we might be in the money.
Of course, if Lights are outside your comfort zone, I completely understand.
Thoughts?

I would definitely be interested in running the lights. Early closed beta, I almost entirely ran Jenners. Have the founders Jenner actually.
I guess with that in mind, I will work on my Raven, even though I know it is hated (even by me sometimes).
Cheers!

By light, I assume the main thing you're talking about is speed, right? What speed range do we want to be in? There are some mediums that are pretty fast, like a centurion, even a hunchback could push 100. I'm still interested in the Yen Lo, but I think that's about 70, so would still get run off by faster mechs.

If we want 100kph as a bench, then a Centurion with an XL300 can hit that. I put an XL300 in mine and was running it last night.
Just remember:
The Yen-Lo comes equipped, stock, with a 215. it weighs 13.5 tons but only has 8 sinks. which means you have to put another 2 in anyway, making the effective weight of the engine 15.5. The XL300 weighs 15.5 on its own, and has 10 sinks, so you don't need to put in extra.
I still run normal sinks in my Yen-Lo. I don't have too much weight/slot leeway to run anything too hot, but you can always run cooler by spending the extra bills.
Once I started factoring the extra sink requirements into the weight of a small engine, the larger XLs just seemed more desirable.
Still, you're a bit squishier, so you have to be careful.
The XL300 in my Jenner puts me at 139kph. A Raven 3L can put in a XL295 for a speed of 137kph, and a 'Mando 2D with a XL210 can hit 136kph.
That is a lot of investment into a light mech, and can seem steep if you never run them. Just something to consider.
I know most of you like running heavier mechs, so if we can get some of the wallflowers (ie. lurkers) here to pipe up, and if they prefer lights, then we might have a good team.
Personally, Kludger is killer in his ECM Atlas, so I would prefer to see him in that.

Also, Cicadas are screaming fast, if you choose to go that route.

I'll play around on that build site for a 50 ton 100kph mech. If I can't get happy with that I'll buy a 3L chicken. Looking up the Jaeger, I probably won't get one unless you get energy weapons on the arms: http://mwowiki.org/wiki/JagerMech

I'm planning on joining in tomorrow night. I have a Raven 3L and 4X (but why would I run that?) that I can use. For pugging, I have more fun in bigger mechs, but if a 3L fits what we want to do as a group, I have no problem running one. I only have the XL210 though, so I'm limited to 97kph until I unlock speed tweak.
I've been thinking about buying a XL245 that I can use in the Ravens, but it's just so much damn $$$...

I had a lot of fun this weekend, got my Atlases and Cataphracts elited out woohoo For Tue I'll be bringing my usual Atlas D-DC with ECM, trying a new "hot" build with 2xERPPC + Gauss + 2xSRM6 similar to the build I've been running but swapped out one of the SRM6 and 2xLL for 2xERPPC, with a heat ratio of 1.12 it will take some concentration to not spend most of the round overheated, so we will see how that goes. My Muromets and YLW are always a fallback if I get tired of Atlas fun. I do plan to buy one of the Jagermeisters but not sure if I will be buying it and running it Tue night or most likely wait until the following day so that I have time to look over the builds and pick a preference. PS. if you guys ever want to do a lance of lights for Conquest, I can either build up my Founder's Jenny which I have 4xML SRM4 and XL280 @ 129kph, I haven't used it much so I stink with it, but worst case I can always provide you guys some fast cover with my YLW with a XL300 @97kph or even my Muramets XL300 @76kph on speedtweak.

I sold my AWS-9M, CTF-1X and CTF-3D, re-configured a CPLT-K2, and purchased a STK-5M. So, my MechLab now consists of a CTF-4X, CPLT-K2 and a STK-5M. Here's the Smurfy: | CTF-4X | CPLT-K2 | STK-5M |

I think a good set up for our cap lance might be an ECM light with some fast mediums. Maybe my mando2D, az's jenner/'WANG', and any other 100+ mech...maybe even MOJOs Flame (103 kph) I think.
Heavier Lance should be anchored with Kludger or Raws Atlas DDC (ecm) (though Raw is better in his FAT Stalker). Maybe each mech in the Heavy Lance carry 1 LRM rack.
Though I have never tried 8 man...it sounds rough. S
