Will be there. Looking forward to it. If we get over four, we will have to scrounge up enough to fill an 8-man on one of the other TS Servers, so test connection settings to both of the Comstar NA and NoGutsNoGalaxy TS Servers found in this thread: https://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/60477-unofficial-community-run-voice-chat-servers/They are probably the best two servers to pick up some extras if we need them.

Patch is out, make sure you are updated in advance if possible. Things of note: - New Map 'Alpine' apparently, quite large. - New Medium Mech 'Trebuchet'. - PPC's disrupt ECM for 4 seconds. Full notes here: https://mwomercs.com/game/patch-notesCheers!

Checked out the new patch and got to play the new map. BIG. ER PPC's, ER Lg lasers and LRM's will be in fashion or you do a lot of dodging before ever getting to take a shot. Apparently PPC's will knock out an ECM for 4 seconds (max), so with those factors we'll see more of them.

Cool I will be online shortly.
I just spent my piggy bank C-Bills on a new Trebuchet 3C, will be my first real use of LRMs since early in the closed beta when I tried them and saw that I got bored sitting there shooting missiles, but with this 100kph moving LRM and ML mech, it should be much more fun doing the fast mobile LRM thing and then closing in for the energy kills once out of ammo.

Will be there in about an hour. Changed my Dragon build from 3 LL to 2LL and a PPC. Will try to coordinate some 'disable ECM with PPC, blast them with LRM'.

I set up an awesome with 2 ER PPC's on the one arm, hoping the heat will be worth it. I wish we could change mechs in the lobby after finding out what the map is. Like Chromehounds did.

I think it's safe to say that last night was successful, despite the 8 man group learning curve. I'll do my best to free up Tuesday nights between 10PM and 12AM.

Very pleased with the turnout! It was interesting trying the 8 man team. It would be nice to have 8 ready to go from the start so we could plan out our roles a bit. You can't really build on the fly for new situations, and that was certainly different. LOL I think I'll stick to my usual in general, but for the 8 man deal keep something more specialized aside.
So what did we learn last night? -got to have some fast movers on the large team, for capturing points and laser designating for LRM's -in conquest, find the delicate balance between splitting the group in order to break up the enemy and having enough in a tight group to help each other survive until reinforcements can get there -call your location out if you need help since there are so many of us to keep up with -for an 8 man team we need to have some variety, more lights and more heavy/assault
what else?

Definitely a fun night.
Raw, your points are all valid.
Also, I am wondering if we want to look at a little more structure/command?
I am thinking of a hint of how we play Arma?
Maybe even break into two lances of four, each with a leader, calling targets keeping the groups together.
A reminder that the 'Q' key (default) is your friend to see who everyone is.

That sounds like a good foundation Krypto. A chain of command would also work Mojo, just as long as we keep it casual, as per SimHQ ArmA style where commanders rotate on a regular basis. I would also like to add one more suggestion, why don't we all list our current Mech configurations so we can compare and contrast possible team configurations. I'll list my Mech Bay as soon as I get a chance...

I've liked that Flame. Going to build up a little more cash tonight and then work on a new atlas. Without getting too militant and serious, I like the idea of command/squads if we can get on at a time where people can make it. Probably good to come up with some thoughts here and then just execute in the game, but I'm up for whatever route you guys want to experiment with.
To keep from having monster threads, maybe we could have a weekly prep thread where we could update what mechs we've got prepped and then strategize a bit. Wouldn't want anyone to feel pigeon-holed in a mech type they might not like enough to stay with all the time.

New threads for each week would work well (Arma is doing this).
Also, for the problems last night, apparently some upstream hosts of MWO were under a denial of service attack, so that explained why some people were fine, and others not. Apparently, I wasn't in the path of the 'warzone', but Kludger and Raw were.
Hopefully see some of you on tonight, I have a bit more premium time to use before it expires.
Cheers!

I should be on about like last night. Got the new atlas, but not happy. I think I need a 120 ton limit to fit what I want. LOL

LOL Haha I know how you feel, the Tebuchet-3C looked awesome and I bought it and found out the stock build has lots of weapons but paper thin armor allocation, so I've now had to drop weapons and ammo to add armor especially since it runs a 300XL engine and I die if the torsos are breached...
