Is it a cyrillic C, which is equivalent to the latin S? If so, it's pronounced One-Ess and I've been calling it the wrong thing for years.

"One-See" in English, or "Adin-Ess" in Rusian.

But, should be One-Ess in English, shouldn't it?

Well, the most correct approach - do not translate it. I.e., Call it Ahdeen-Ess. To my knowledge, in most languages names are not translated and should be pronounced the way, they are pronounced in the name-bearer's native language. That includes company names as well.

But, there is one peculiarity. smile English C and Russian C on the Russian QWERTY keyboard are on the same button. So, no matter if you type in Cyrillic, or Latin, you still get the same "1C". That is why, you can say "one-see" in English. smile

Well, speaking of the funny side... Domain name 1C.ru in Russian could be read as [Adeensrooh] which translates into "I am pooping lonely". hahaha

beyond obvious

Not at all, we're always helping Russian people with their English but we rarely get a chance to find out how to pronounce their language. Very rarely in fact, so don't knock it

One-C I call it

translates into "I am pooping lonely"

Smile2

Call it Ahdeen-Ess

Thanks Saxo! ('the salty adin') Smile2
