Will working rear view mirrors be
added to the cockpits?

They might be... They would be cool to have, but we still have to see what impact they have on the frame rate and how useful they are in game term...

Hi TK,

Jane's Fighters Anthology had rear view mirrors, but they used lower resolution terrain tiles to save on frame rate speed.

Maybe that would be the way to go? Simpler, lower res terrain tiles for the
mirrors while keeping any objects that appear
in the same res?

Look at Flanker 2. The original game had low-res mirrors that didn't hurt FPS but also were of limited utility. When you saw nothing but sky out the front it could help you with your orientation, but that was it.
With patch 2.03 they added hi-res mirrors that you could use in combat, but the FPS in the cockpit took a big hit. Frankly, if you see a bandit in your mirror, you're already dead.

I would prefer low-res mirrors rather
than no mirrors at all becasue most all
fighters have them. It will add to the
realism and authenticity of the cockpits.
