Toe-brakes. Not on Russian fighters.
On a Russian fighter you squeeze a lever (looks like a bicycle brake lever) on the column. For differential braking you move your rudder peddles where you want them and squeeze the handle. The more you move the peddle in one direction the more brake is applied to that side when you squeeze the lever.
Oh yeah, and they are typically pneumatic. You need to make sure that you are not all over the brakes or else you could drain your air bottle and have no brakes.
