Each time i launch Bob i have to go into the settings of the sim and PC to choose the settings that i like.
Is there a way to do so that bob saves once for all, all those setup i have to do each time i launch bob ?

(i installed the 2 patches of simhq download plus a patch no CD and i have my desktop in 1024 )

You might try to set the settings file read only. You will find the file in the Savegame folder.

Are you running the campaign?

Welcome to BoB , you might want to install some of the updates here: http://www.3d-raumplan.com/Flightsim/

v090 code and BoBArtworkModPack-v1.1 are suggested.

They make quite a difference.

Thanks you very much Osram and Bader.
I can now save the config thanks to you (it was boring to do it each time )

Also thanks to Bader i installed BDG.
This is amazing how some people are talented in programing.
Well done, BDG team !!!
And all of this for free !!!

I did not yet started a campaign because even with the manual i
find lost in all the stuffs provided with the campaign.

I also would like to fully understand the view system because i have trouble following bandits after i hit them.

This leads me to 2 big troubles :

1- each time i hit a plane either with 7.7 Mg or cal .303 or 20 mm the plane hitted jump in the sky like a bouncing ball and no hope for me to catch him again.
This seems totaly unrealistic (even if i never did that in real)
and over exagerated as it does give a huge height advantage to the bandit you just shot at and there fore you loose him.

So either i hit a previously hitted plane (so my hit finish it) either i can not get the kill because after i damage the ennemy he do bounces high in the sky.

This leads to my second problem

2- how can i follow a bandit ?
after being hitted the bandit bounc out of my field of view and
then no hope to catch him again (unless he smokes so that i can find it again with someluck).

I'm lost in the view things :
i would like to be able to follow a plane by using my hat button of joystick to simulate my heads movment (like in IL2 : you hit the hat button left and you starte looking 20 degrees left you hit it again and you get 20 degrees more etc etc).

I can do that in the first mintues of the game but as soon as i choose another type of view with F keys i can not anymore get that type of view : it seems to switch to another type of view where only my mouse can simulate my head moving.
this is a big problem for me. Is there a way to fix that ?

I'd suggest that you work with the padlock system, unless you use a free mouse look. BoB's padlock is the best around and after some acquaintance should allow you to follow bandits easily. You can choose to allow it only to track targets that you can see from your seat (so not under your tail for example), which is realistic.

Also, do read the FAQs at the BDG site, it reminds people to choose 'complex AI' for example which stops planes using a simplified flight model.

Hope this helps a little..

And watch your tail. In BoB you get bounced and shot down a lot, unless you really keep your situational awareness up.

I cant belive it.
Tonight i installed the second patch of BDG the 1.1 one !!!
Olalalala !!!!
This is incredible how it change things !!!
Plane smokings are as nice as in IL2.
Sounds are amazing, clouds are the best clouds i ever saw on a PC game.

Plus as you said i used complex AI and now i can follow a plane much better after the first hit.
(i also noticed F1 key allow you to lock the bandit and ESC unlock it and in setup control you can set up the joystiack hat to act like in IL2)

Men from BDG i do thanks you very much.
this old game i bought for 10 euros worth 1000 thanks to all your work.

i will now try to understand and use the second part of the game : the wargame phase.

Thanks a lot from a french player who really enjoy Bob with BDG work.

Glad you like it. Come back and ask if you get stuck again. The campaign is complex, but very rewarding. It has real suspense.

Hi Lipfert
Hey if you like combats over england and the movie Battle of Britain then try to find that game from Rowan.
The game is the most immersive game i ever played offline.
