Here's an upgrade of the F-7 Skybolt I put out a while back, this time the original Chinese bird, the J-7E:

Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation (CAC) Jian-7E, which is a copy of the MiG-21F. The ChiComms call this the third-generation version of
the J-7, and it must be the ultimate version of the MiG-21F, complete with Western avionics, including a RWR. This bird also has the ablity to carry 6 missiles, thanks to a dual IRM rail, finally a half decent warload on a ChiComm aircraft!

The J-7E uses the green 300L tank I skinned for my Kiwi A-4K, as long as you have the latest Weapons Pack you shouldn't have a problem.

This bird also comes with an excellent gunsight by MiGeg, IMHO the best gunsight I've seen for SF! Thanks Greg!

Also thanks to Howling1, Maddiecaddie and MiGeg for updating the data files on for the F/J-7! This bird is a beast in ACM!

OK guys, you will need to copy the F-4J cockpit folder to the J-7E folder to make it work.

There are four 3rd party skins currently available for the MiG-21F. Gramps has done all of them. Thanks Gramps...

Much obliged chaps, a very nice aircraft though there's something strange about using AIM-9's on a MiG. I hope we'll get to see working outer pylons in the near future. \:\)

Thanks Guys, I'm building a "Bear And The Dragon" Campaign, so thought this bird was needed in it's original colors!

Maddcaddie, I'll see what I can find out.

Howling is right, you'll need the F-4J pit, DO NOT copy the folder, there's instructions in the readme.
ALso Howling, Coyote did the original MiG-21F third party skin, which I modified for the F-7, so that's 5 skins, of which I have done four!

Deerhunter, it is strange, but the J/F-7 is capable of carrying a large range of western and russian missiles, and of course the local Chinese copies (they knock off everything, including missiles, it seems the next original thought the CHiComms have will be their first!)

Anyway, she's rocket (but has short legs), so have fun!

Wrong ... that Gunsight SUCK royal Arse \:\)

I tell you what to do \:\)
rename that F-7_sight.tga to f-4j_HUDReflection.tga

then add a normal F4E sight..
This way you have the almost "HUD" plus a mobile piper. It is working.. \:\) I tried it with madcaddie

Great stuff! Now if someone could add the "double delta" look to this bird, that would be cool as well. Maybe the same way the hump was made for the A-4's??

see, the problem is at the back edge of the wing, but if we could somehow make that disappear? ;\)

maybe by editing some transperencies..after all i think on the MiG-21 model there are two different meshes for the wing i found while playing with decals..the outer ones being the area in question for editing. thoughts?

It might be worth looking at Boopidoo's SU-15TM Flagon F, it has a similar double delta wing...
