Dark_Knight_667 (or any other interested party)....would it be possible to mod the F-100's FM, to allow it to fall prey to the dread "Sabre Dance"?

This ocurred at low speeds and low altitude (such as at rotation speed), when the pilot inadvertantly exceeded the aircraft's AOA, causing it to pitch up wildly, out of control. The Hun would then appear to be dancing on it's tail, with only raw thrust keeping it airborne (for a few seconds, anyway).

Was the default FM for the F-100 fix in the patch?

It sort of was..however the values are still backwards IMO..same location.

As far as the Sabre Dance goes....It would take a good stallmodel to get it to do that..the stall model and the campaign upgrades were both wacked in the last patch. I've gotten an email from TK stating he is going to address the campaign in the next one..whenever that is..

Did you switch the values again, after the patch? What does TK say to this "fix". Andy said it feels better on the one hand but it also screws up the FM on the other hand. The F-100 wasn't a turn'n'burner and has never been able to turn with those little'n'light Migs. I tried the fix once but found the Hun a bit too agile. Have to try it again with the "patched" FM.

WOW. I don't know about the realism since I've never flown a real fighter jet, but the difference in the FM from last night and today is amazing.

Good Job.

So, I am a still a bit confused. Should we use DK's fm after the patch? Or do we need more time now to test it again?

Also, if I am reading this post right, Andy did think the DK's FM was better but we do not black out soon enough and we push this aircraft past the pilots abilities. Does that apply to all the planes? If so, is there a way to tweak the black out settings?

So whats the verdict Dark_Knight_667 ? should people still be using the current fix you have up for DL post patch?
Need to know since I still have it up as an essential file at my SFP1 section of CFS Pilots.

The fix up for DL is for the unpatched SFP1, I did do the same to the F100 after the patch..just to see if it was still relevant..after the patch the F100 still bogged when the slats deployed during High G, high AOA maneuvers..so I switched the values again..the altered FM again does what the old one did..but with an even less effect..above 350 knots I can stay with the Migs..below..they outturn me easily..from all that I had read, this would be true..as the Migs had problems at higher speeds due to non power-assisted control surfaces..no hydraulics in ailerons/rudder so they suffered at higher speeds because of it. However, the values currently used could use some tweaking..as the F100's instant turn rate with the values reversed is better than the Mig 17's..it shouldn't be. Once they fix the campaign..I'll be back to update it some more..until they fix SF..I'm doing other things.

Ok so you can turn with Migs above 350kts. That sounds a bit better tha nthe 250 with the pre patch FM. Have to try it
