Just picked up LOMAC:Gold from Best Buy over the weekend, and surprise, surprise, it doesn't work. Starforce says the disk is invalid. It INSTALLS and all, it just won't validate it.

Thing is, 'Silent Hunter III's version of Starforce has no problem with my system at all.

I tried contacting Starforce via email, and they said to get in contact with the publisher for support. The publisher doesn't seem interested in responding to emails, though, so I'm not really sure what to do next?

It's a problem from the publisher not Starforce
With Lockon Gold the publishers have messed up the 2nd Installation disk.
You can contact them them to get a new disk - This thread has contact link
There's about a 2 to 4 working-days wait until the new disk arrives by mail in a plain envelope. Throw the original Disk 2 away.
Some people have played for a bit on the 1st disk only - that's the main Lockon game.

I guess the ones already in place were not pulled. I co-worker bought one yesterday and like Xander, the second disk was porked.

I can see why they weren't pulled. Since the packaging and distribution were aleady payed for, the shipping of a new second disk would be cheaper.

He's going to try and stop by Creative CMS today to see if can just get a copy in person; they're 10 minutes from our work place.

Crazy that they WOULDN'T pull them, though.

I mean, these are being sold in *Best Buy* and *EBGames* and such. It's not like hardcore flight simmers ordering disks from online e-tailers or importing them from out the country or something.

These are in a position to be bought from MAINSTREAM GAMERS. And what will be their first impression of their first hardcore flight sim? "WTF, it doesn't even work!"

A tragedy!

That said, 'Evolved Games' support is pretty good. Replied to my email in a few minutes, and had my replacement disk out to me the same day. Not bad. Wish it hadn't had to happen at all, but...decent after-the-fact support, anyway.
