I'd forgotten about the LMS series. Maybe some Saturday or open Sunday.

I did try these IRL cars at the (TPSCC) Texas track. Full throttle laps on a mile-and-a-half tri-oval. Compared to Indy: Very few idle moments, even without traffic. Call it around a 24 second lap (or less), using the Speedway upgrade. Traffic, and getting into and out of the pits, would be more challenging than Indy.

Want complete craziness? Try IRL at Joesville.

I have yet to find a league, other than a dedicated NASCAR league, where oval racing gets much run. Seems that those who are interested in non-NASCAR racing dont like to oval race at all usually. Which I dont get, you wont find any more exciting racing than putting 20+ cars on an oval and going after it.

Hopefully there can be some more oval events, even if its just one off type stuff. Its better than nothing.

We have enough people here with interest, why not start a weekly or bi-weekly oval race league. just my .02 cents.

Our F1 series follows the real F1 championship calendar which means we have a race every 2 weeks. Beginning June 29th, we're going to be running the SimHQ Lemans series on non-F1 weeks which is a series I'm rather looking forward to.

I'd love to compete in an IRL oval series (no Joesville PK \:\) ), but I wonder where we can squeeze it in. Saturday perhaps? Then again, if we run Saturday, wonder how many guys can make it. We need a reasonably large grid for a series like this to work. 5 or 6 cars just won't do.

I imagine that special one-off events will be needed to attract a large oval crowd. The racing is fun, though.

I would've made 13 if I wasn't flying back from Disney World later the same day. I'd be interested in any future open wheel oval events.

I'm definitely interested, too. And there are still five open Sundays between now and the close of the F1 series:

8 June: F1 Canada
15 June: OPEN (real Le Mans weekend)
22 June: F1 France
29 June: LMS Sebring
6 July: F1 Britain
13 July: OPEN
20 July: LMS Nuerburg
27 July: OPEN
3 August: F1 Hungary
10 August: LMS Long Beach
17 July: OPEN
24 July: F1 Valencia
31 July: LMS Hockenheim
7 September: F1 Belgium
14 September: F1 Italy
21 September: LMS Detroit
28 September: F1 Singapore
5 October: OPEN
12 October: F1 Japan
19 October: F1 China
26 October: LMS Silverstone
2 November: F1 Brazil

Whether Doug has specific plans for these open days is unknown to me. It would appear he's working on a GTR2 series.
