D'oh! They looked like they were on track to make a believeable 6DOF cockpit with a proper HUD.

What does Atari care? Theoretically it could but realistically it doesn't. Anyway 4.6/OF will still go on, just with community input now. Check the GlobalFalcon forums, things are already starting to happen. Plus the unfinished 4.6 has been released.
Yep, it got them last night from the AMVI site. It seems there's lot of traffic though and takes a while, I was d/ling at 15kb/s! But I see there's a megaupload mirror too now.
