Ah, so she's one of those bandwagon fans huh? :-)

I went to a Florida Marlins/Red Sox game last year and I was simply shocked at how many Red Sox fans there were in the stadium. I can understand NY Yankees because a LOT of New Yorkers moved down to Miami, but Red Sox?

I've been a Sox fan since 1979 and it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of these bandwagon fans have never even heard of names like Jim Rice, Dwight Evans, Fred Lynn, Rick Burleson and Luis Tiant.

So the Sox now have a 5.5 game lead and they will play the Yankees at Boston this coming weekend for a 3 game series. It should be interesting...

Magic number is 14 with 18 games left to play.

Yankees may gain a half game tonight: Sox face Tampa Bay's Scott Kazmir (again). Kazmir usually handles them pretty well, although they have beaten him a few times this season. Tampa Bay has been playing well lately and Carlos Pena has been hammering the ball.

I think Matsuzaka may be cooked for the season, getting bombed in his last three starts. He will likely pitch in the Yankee series...
