OK, unfortunately I still have nothing.

My path is:

program files\wings over vietnam\objects\aircraft\fmk6 and the subs are:
\No-5 \No-11 \Pilots \Sounds \Weapons
\D \D \Grey Tank
\White Tank

Is this right?

If not, at which level should I be installing these items?

I am pretty clueless so far. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Let's see:

content of

Pilot goes into \Objects\aircraft folder
Sounds goes into \sounds folder
Weapons goes into \objects\weapons folder (not necessary if using July 06 weapons pack)
The D folders are the decals folders for the skins, if you have these in the main FMk6 folder, you goofed on extraction.
They should be subfolder of the No-5 or No-11 skin folders.

The contend of the Fmk6_data.ini can be replaced by what's been posted by me, it's Kreelins rework of the FM as found on Checksix forums.

As for the Afterburner Effect, forget the info in the readme about editing particlesystem.ini?, it's outdated.
Take these entries and copy them into a Fmk6_afterburner.ini in the effects folder. Extract the effects TGA there too. If it wants to overwrite a file in the effects folder, extract it to a temp folder and rename it.

In the created Fmk6_afterburner.ini change the line

TextureStage[01].TextureName=AFTERBURNERF6.tga
(in the [Lightning_ABMATERIAL] section)

to the name of your renamed file. That's my workaround so the entry refers to different tga file when working from the original files.

Now look for the

[EmitterType001]
Name=Lightning_AB

You can use any name you like. Just copy the name over to the FMK6_data.ini and replace the

AfterburnerEmitterName=AfterburnerEmitterF6Blue

with that name for both engines.

Thanks for all the helpful direction.

I believe I did manage to get the July weapons pack upgrade so that's covered.

But I continue to be haunted by a total lack of loadout- both pylon dropdown lists are empty, and no loads/munitions are in the list to the left of that screen.

Anything specific to that would be greatly appreciated, including those file locations as well.

Funny, but I've never had a problem like this with any other add-on aircraft. Wonder why this one is so different...

1st,for 5sqd decal folder is D1 and is put in decals folder so.... Objects\Decals\D1
11 sqd decal folder is D2 and goes as above...

well, I am pretty much at a loss to explain why I still have no stores available and no weapons to choose. A clean load would be ok if I had a Victor tanker bird up there. :-)

What files would you experts need to see to determine whether or not I have everything in its proper place?

Thank you to RussoUK and Buggerstein...

I guess the July Weapons Pack that I thought I loaded back in July turned out to be something else, maybe an update. So loading it and refreshing the FMK6 install folder fixed the stores issue.

Now I just need to find a shorter range mission in WoV- MiG-CAP from down South to Hanoi and back turns the Lightning into a lawn dart about halfway between on the return trip, even with tanks.
Don't suppose there's a fix for that, is there?

You could cheat and add more fuel..could be way of saying...oh well I did A2A refuelling en route.....lol
