I've searched around but cannot find the answer for my question, and since I don't know where the simhq of the laundry world is I'll resort to asking here


Some of my blue shirts are turning purple after I wash them. I'm not sure if this happens in the washer or dryer. I usually try to wash my clothes in cold water and dry them on a cooler setting. Some of my towels also are changing colour, but I don't care about those. It's really annoying when a perfectly good blue shirt comes out and has a collar that is half purple.

So ask your wives and mistresses what I should do!

Maybe we can get those guys from the show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" to help you out with your laundry issue?

First just wash the blue shirts with other blue things.

Then make sure you are not putting bleach of any kind in the wash. All you need is a laundry detergent (I use ALL) and a fabric softener (use one of those downy ball thigamys).
And use the cold setting on your washer.
Dryer temps will not make it fade but may contribute to shrinkage.

Are you using a biological washing liquid/powder? Sometimes that can do funky things to colours

why don't you try one of those colour fast powders,which are supposed to stop the colour running
