As stated in another thread (not getting noticed there so here I am) I installed the patches and the game wouldn't get past the I-16 first boot window, just didn't do anything. I alt, control, del, and it wasn't even active in the task manager. I un-installed the game and got it back to the regular install ok but I need to know how to properly install the patches.

1st, do I install with "overwrite existing files" checked???

2nd, do I install to the IL-2 FB folder, on top??

ok... normal install 1.1...

then put in rc1.....copy and paste as normal..

then open rc2....copy all files over except the three folders (paintschemes campaign and samples)

then open these folders in turn and paste the contents only to the corrisponding folder in your fb directory... that way you loose no existing files..

works fine for me and plays on line ok too..so it must be right

Yes that sounds right. My loading screen says 1.2RC01

Not sure if you'll have a problem copying a RC Beta over another Beta (1.11b) but if you're having problems you might want to upgrade to the real 1.11 before adding the RC_1 & RC_2 files just to play it safe.

Our loading screen says V1.2 RC01 after installing RC02 over the RC01. It seems to working OK offline but I was wondering too why it didn't say RC02.

My understanding is that the files are both Release Candidate one but the files themselves are numbered 1 and 2 as you need both to get the full RC 1, does that make sense to you? I could be totally wrong but that's how I look at it. This is the first Release Candidate to date.
