I have another thread on this same topic called "help me if you can" but this is becoming a big problem for me. As long as I was just doing QMB, I didn't have this problem but it is killing me in campaigns when the missions last longer than 20 minutes. Slow, slower, stop with the memory error.

So if you are having this problem, please do a bump and does anyone know if this is being addressed in the patch?

XP Pro
Open GL
P4 2.4
1 gb of PC2700
Radeon 9700 Pro
No errors on dxdiag
Audigy Platinum 2
IRtrack

No other computer problems! I run NU and speed disk frequently.

I don't know if a read memory error is the same as a access violation error, but I found this at the ATI web site. I hope this helps someone.

OpenGL applications may exhibit Access Violation errors upon rendering a scene that consists of very long spline lines in a model or bitmap. This issue is not specific to ATI, and can occur on any graphics card under Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP.

Thanks SAF, and MS says over there that the Service Pack fixes it for XP

there is one track (on a small map Smolensk) that will not play - get that eror message and hard lock up. All other tracks ok

If you're in OGL Mark, try the same track under D3D to see if it's an error of this type that's causing the problem

Access violations are memory problems of some sort yes, two programs trying to use the same part of memory, that should be a clue (if it's an accurate report of the error) that another program is running in the background

Try to run FB with a disabled swap file. Someone one the UBI forum did that after i wrote that i always run FB without a swapfile. The topic was a different though but he also suffered the memory problem.

Yes John, "memory" may include virtual memory I should think so the hard drive needs sorting just in case... chkdsk /f

In my case, this error occurred because of the memory modules I have installed in my PC. 4 sticks of 1066 16bit RDRAM. These units require installation in pairs. 1st pair and 2nd pair are different brand. At a speed of 1066, I get the errors, but at 800 the errors do not occur. Try downclocking the memory modules.
